MC Member, WG3 Leader
Griet Glorieux is professor at Ghent University Hospital since 2012. Her research topics focuses on chronic kidney disease (CKD) and uraemic toxicity to develop therapeutic measures/therapeutic strategies to alter the intestinal generation of uraemic toxins, resulting in lowering their circulating levels, aiming at decreasing inflammation and cardiovascular morbidity and mortality in CKD patients.

Tasks
- 1. Define the demands for suitable preclinical models with translational predictive value.
- 2. Confirm the disease models on molecular pathophysiology generated in WG2 in data from human specimens (tissue and body fluids), primary cells, cell lines, advanced in vitro models.
- 3. And animal models of CKD
- 4. Define cross-species molecular similarity, based on affected pathways.
