Marta Lopes is a researcher at Nova School of Science and Technology, NOVA University of Lisbon. She graduated in Biology, obtained a Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics, and a PhD in Biotechnology. Her main research focuses on the development of bioinformatics and machine learning tools for biomarker discovery based on high-dimensional data generated in biomedical problems.

Tasks
- 1. Investigate the relevance of significant findings (yielded from bioinformatics disease modelling and further confirmed in preclinical models) in the context of human disease.
- 2. Demonstrate a benefit/outcome advantage through the generation of cost-effectiveness models. Outcomes should be chosen in function of clinical or patient relevance and preferably discussed with patient groups.
- 3. Exploratory health economic modelling to assess a health-economic advantage.
- 4. Based on 1-3 concepts for appropriate clinical studies to test the developed hypotheses will be designed.
