WG1 Leader
Julie Klein is principal investigator at the Renal Fibrosis Lab, INSERM. She received her PhD from the University Paul Sabatier, Toulouse, France, in 2009. Her main domains of expertise are bioinformatics tools and databases (KUPKB, Proteasix, PRYNT), clinical proteomics, cardiovascular complications of chronic kidney disease, mechanisms of chronic kidney disease, urinary biomarkers.

Riste Stojanov

Riste Stojanov is Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering – Skopje. He graduated in 2008 in the field of Informatics and Computer Engineering and in 2010 he obtained his M.Sc. degree in Content Based Retrieval, in the field of semantic web technologies, both at the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje. His academic interests include semantic web, web technologies, software design, natural language processing and computer networks.

Griet Glorieux

Griet Glorieux is professor at Ghent University Hospital since 2012. Her research topics focuses on chronic kidney disease (CKD) and uraemic toxicity to develop therapeutic measures/therapeutic strategies to alter the intestinal generation of uraemic toxins, resulting in lowering their circulating levels, aiming at decreasing inflammation and cardiovascular morbidity and mortality in CKD patients.

Marta Lopes

Marta Lopes is a researcher at Nova School of Science and Technology, NOVA University of Lisbon. She graduated in Biology, obtained a Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics, and a PhD in Biotechnology. Her main research focuses on the development of bioinformatics and machine learning tools for biomarker discovery based on high-dimensional data generated in biomedical problems.

Julia Voicehovska is Professor and Teaching coordinator at the Department of Internal Diseases, Riga Stradins University, Latvia. She was graduated as PhD in Riga Stradins University, with the topic on Add-on Antioxidant Therapy: new advances in Bronchial Asthma and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease treatment and complications prophylaxis in 2007. Her research interests include oxidative stress, biomarkers, metabolic syndrome, chronic kidney disease and hearth failure.
